AI Agent for Odoo: Binovo AI Agent

Binovo AI Agent is an artificial intelligence agent built into Discuss, the Odoo chat. You ask it questions in natural language and it answers using your data: it prepares quotations, analyzes sales, draws charts, writes and translates, and opens screens already filtered. When it needs to create or modify something in Odoo, it asks for your authorization first.

  • Query any Odoo data in natural language, respecting each user’s permissions.
  • Suggest what is worth reviewing and flag errors or inconsistencies in your data.
  • Answer usage questions (“how do I post a journal entry for…?”) and check whether a process is being carried out correctly.
  • Create new or duplicate records and send emails to customers and contacts, always with your authorization.
  • Take you to specific records or screens and save recurring queries so you can run them whenever you want.

What it does

It queries Odoo in natural language, writes, summarizes, translates, draws charts, opens views and filters, and creates or modifies records with your authorization.

What it doesn’t do

It doesn’t act without permission, doesn’t serve customers or the general public, and doesn’t make decisions about people.

The one you choose: Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, OpenAI ChatGPT, DeepSeek or a local model with Ollama, using your own API key.

Control and security

Every tool the agent uses needs your authorization: “this time”, “always” or “deny”. The agent respects Odoo permissions, so nobody gets information through the AI that they couldn’t see in Odoo. Conversations stay in your Odoo, and in every message you can see the tokens consumed, with a limit that can be configured per agent.

Binovo advises against using DeepSeek when the agent may access personal or confidential data, because its servers are outside the European Union. For sensitive data, the recommended option is a local model, on your own servers or in Binovo’s data center.

What is an AI agent in Odoo?

It is an assistant that, besides answering questions, can use tools from the ERP itself: look up records, open views or propose changes. In Binovo AI Agent, every tool requires the user’s authorization before it runs.

Can the agent provide information the user doesn’t have permission to see?

No. The agent respects each user’s Odoo permissions: if someone doesn’t have access to accounting or payroll, the AI won’t give them that information even if they ask for it.

Can I customize the agent’s prompt?

Yes. Each agent has prompts and skills that you can tailor to your company. They are stored in your own Odoo.

Does the AI only use Odoo data?

It can also use files, documents or publicly visible web pages, and combine them with your Odoo data. It does not scrape or interact with forms on other websites, by design.

Does it work with Odoo Community?

Yes, on Odoo Community or Enterprise version 16 or higher, with no per-user fees.
